Hello and welcome to the website for Parkend Primary School, part of The Forest of Dean Community Schools Federation, linked with Yorkley Primary School, working together to make our community stronger.
Parkend Primary is a small school with BIG ideas — a popular and well-respected school with roughly 70 children on roll. Ofsted rated us ‘Good’ overall with two areas ‘Outstanding’, reflecting our commitment to high standards and the strong sense of care that underpins everything we do.
Set in the heart of the Forest of Dean, our children benefit from a rich outdoor learning environment, including our Forest Classroom, Trim Trail, PlayPod, and whole-school biking initiative, which encourage active learning and a love of the outdoors.
Our dedicated team of staff share a clear and ambitious vision: to provide a high-quality education for every child. Whoops-A-Daisy Angel Nativity Performance
Hedgehog Class put on an amazing 'Whoops-A-Daisy Angel' Nativity performance. All children were full of confidence with their wonderful acting & beautiful singing. Well done Hedgehogs!
Finalists of Look Who's Talking Oracy Competition
Well done to our 3 finalists who will now go on to represent our school in the next round against schools across The Forest of Dean. We wish them all the very best of luck!
Look Who's Talking Oracy Competition
We are incredibly proud of all the children who took part in the class heats of the Look Who’s Talking Oracy Competition. The next stage was the school heats, where 9 children were absolutely amazing, confidently sharing brilliant topics that really mattered to them. Although only three children could progress to the next round, every participant should be extremely proud of themselves.
Local MP Matt Bishop Visits Parkend School
We are extremely proud of some of our Young Leaders as they lead a tour of our school and asked and answered questions from our local MP – Matt Bishop. The children thoroughly enjoyed the visit and really valued the opportunity to share their views.
Santa's Brass Band Came to Parkend!
Parkend School had the pleasure of listening to Forest of Dean Brass Band with Roger Deeks. The children enjoyed singing along and celebrating the Christmas spirit together.
